Welcome!

From her dedication to wellness Marilyn Walls emerged as a nutritionist, herbalist, teacher, author, and lover of essential oils.

Marilyn Walls has a Masters of Nutrition from Bastyr University, a bastion of holistic medicine and natural health education in Seattle, where she was an adjunct professor.

Marilyn teaches classes in Seattle where she’s beloved for her extensive knowledge about nutrition, her commitment to sustainable food, her accessible suggestions for healthy eating and her sense of fun. Her articles are appreciated for rich information and clearly presented ideas.

Combining herbs and essential oils, she created body-care products and teas to support the treatments offered at an upscale day spa. Her classes and private consultations on making body care products meld healing aromas with botanical properties for better skin care.

The Book: Mother’s Secret

The reach of brain issues and dying elders is wider than the Mississippi River, flooding the shelves with books. Mother’s Secret: A Nutritionist’s View of Family and Alzheimer’s Disease stands alone as a genre-bender of a book, a familiar story colored by the red dirt of a family’s Southern roots and invested with scientific and nutritional knowledge.

This memoir visits both the pain and the humor of caring for a mother during the end of her life, while also considering caregivers and their health.

She is familiar, perhaps like your mother or grandmother, a woman who gained strength during the upheavals of the Depression and World War II. Her independence served her well until dementia overwhelmed her and challenged her relationship with her daughters.
